artist picture L.T.Short Fraktur

L.T. Short is a self-taught folk artist from Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania. Lisa’s interest in folk art grew from her love of antiques and decorative arts of the Pennsylvania Germans. Her primary focus is on the traditional craft of Fraktur, highly artistic and elaborate 18th and 19th century illuminated manuscript or folk art drawings created by the Pennsylvania Germans. Most fraktur designs that Lisa creates are reproductions of original reference or an adaptation inspired by an original reference. Each Fraktur is hand inked, painted and framed in a traditional grain-painted frame. She has been included in Early American Life’s Directory of Traditional American Craft Artists.
